The whole weekend was rather sobering from a sporting perspective, but overall satisfying. Wolfgang and Veronika started, immediately securing an excellent 4th place (1:32.604) in qualifying. Wolfgang started race 1 from position 9 (1:36.181).
Unfortunately, he crashed in the first corner after the start and could only watch the race from the side of the track. Veronika finished the first race in 7th place. On Sunday, race 2 took place in front of a breathtaking backdrop of over 80,000 spectators.
Due to the crash the day before, Wolfgang had to start in a replacement car in which he struggled with setup problems and finished the race in 10th place. Veronika fared like Wolfgang in race 1, she spun off the track in the first corner.
